On 7 July, Bohai University and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT) held a cooperation discussion meeting. Attendees included Pan Dechang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Bohai University; Dr Zhang Chao from RMIT University; Zhang Junxiu, Dean of the College of International Education; Qin Zhixue, Dean of the college of Continuing Education; and other relevant department heads.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on multi-tiered cooperation, building upon mutual understanding of their institutional characteristics and developmental visions. Key areas of focus included implementation pathways for joint undergraduate programs, integrated undergraduate-postgraduate programs, and dual-supervisor master's programs involving Chinese and international mentors. Views were also exchanged on short-term faculty and student exchange initiatives.
On the afternoon of 6 July, Dr Zhang Chao delivered a specialized academic lecture entitled "Collaborative Driving of Economic and Tourism Development by Airlines and Destination Stakeholders" to faculty and students of the School of Management. From 7 to 10 July, Dr Zhang Chao conducted multiple academic seminars with key faculty members from the College of International Education , the College of Foreign Languages, and the College of Management, while also participating in centralized academic exchange activities.
The successful hosting of this event has injected fresh impetus into the internationalization of relevant disciplines at Bohai University. It has significantly advanced the university's international exchange and cooperation efforts towards higher standards and greater depth, made positive contributions to enhancing educational and cultural exchanges between China and Australia and fostering people-to-people friendship, and opened new prospects for international collaboration in the field of regional economic and tourism development research.
