From October 30 to 31, the 2025 "Chinese Language Teaching Heroes Conference" International Chinese Language Teaching Skills Exchange Activity in Northeast China, hosted by the School of International Chinese Language Education of Northeast Normal University, was held in Changchun, Jilin Province. The event was jointly organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, the National Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee for International Chinese Education, and the Joint Conference of Undergraduate Program Directors for Chinese International Education. After four months of meticulous preparation, a faculty team from our university stood out and was selected by the organizing committee to participate in the offline exchange activities in the Northeast Region. During the event, the team was awarded the "Best Teaching Organization Team" prize.
Our school actively organized and participated in this exchange activity. Led by Ma Zhengrong, the vice dean of the School of International Education, the team members included Yu Benfeng and Chen Yan from the School of Literature, as well as Wang Chong and Wang Huishan from the School of International Education. The offline exchange in the Northeast region includes "classroom presentation" and "interactive communication" sessions. At the exchange event site, the "Intermediate Chinese Oral Communication" course presented by our school's teaching team, with the theme of "Why do we eat zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival?", constructed a closed loop of "drive - facilitate - output - evaluation" based on the Output-oriented Approach (POA) theory. With the help of AI digital human teachers, virtual interaction was carried out to achieve digital empowerment of teaching. The entire design not only focuses on enhancing oral English skills but also attaches great importance to cultivating students' ability to tell Chinese stories in logical and hierarchical language, facilitating the development of cross-cultural communication literacy. During the on-site review session, experts in the field of international Chinese language education affirmed and praised the teaching performance, overall design, interaction between teachers and students, and digital empowerment of our school's teaching team in multiple aspects.
As a well-known platform in the global field of international Chinese language education, the "Chinese Language Education Hero Conference" has been successfully held for seven sessions. This award not only affirms the teaching ability of our school's international Chinese language teachers but also points out the direction for the development of our school's international Chinese language education cause. Our university will continue to uphold the concept of openness and innovation, strengthen the construction of the teaching staff, deepen the integration of AI and teaching, improve the quality of international Chinese language teaching, and contribute the strength of Bohai University to the high-quality development of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and international Chinese language education.
