The College of International Education Organized an “Experience China” Social Activity for International Students

From September 8th to 9th, 2025, College of International Education  of Bohai University organized more than ten international students from countries such as Russia, Tajikistan, Burundi, Republic of Central Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Zimbabwe, and Solomon islands to visit Diao bingshan City and carry out a two-day “Experience China” social activity. This activity was made up of three main theme sections “Cultural Exploration”, “industrial Witnessing”, and “Rural Revitalization”, and enabled the international students to truly experience the profound heritage of Chinese excellent traditional culture and vigorous vitality of modern development.

The international students visited the Wuzhu city, which is regarded as one of the “Four Ancient Buildings of Liao and Jin Dynasties”. Under the guidance of professional tour guides, everyone strolled along the ancient city walls, stopped in front of the statue of Wuzhu of the Jin Dynasty, and gained a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the Liao and Jin Dynasties. Under the guidance of intangible cultural heritage inheritors, the international students also personally experienced “Chen-style Tai Ji”, a municipal intangible cultural heritage project, and felt the unique charm of Chinese martial arts with every movement.

The activity carefully arranged visits to key enterprises such as Xinfeng Mining, Maggie New Materials, Guotou Bioenergy, and Angel Yeast, etc. At the Diaobingshan Steam Locomotive Museum, a “National Industrial Tourism Demonstration Site”, international students were deeply attracted by the steam locomotives on display. Through the physical exhibits, they gained an intuitive understanding of the historical trajectory and transformation achievements of China’s industrial development. At the “National Model Cooperative” Shihuangdi Farmers’ Professional Cooperative, international students went into the fields and had in-depth exchanges with the cooperative leaders to learn about modern agricultural operation models and the achievements of rural revitalization practices.

This activity, through immersive and interactive experience design, enabled international students to feel the diversity and unity of Chinese culture while walking and understand the rich connotations of Chinese-style modernization through communication. In the future, the International Education College will continue to innovate the forms of activities, enhance international students’ understanding of Chinese history and culture, and build more platforms for them to understand and experience China.
