On September 27th, a delegation of three people, including Baasansukh Badarch, the president of Mongolia University of Life Sciences, Liu Peng, the advisor of Ulaanbaatar City, Mongolia and the secretary-general of the China-Mongolia Research Center, and Shu Rui, the director of the Mongolian Liaison Office of the China-Mongolia Research Center, visited Bohai University for an exchange. The university held a progress meeting on the construction of the joint laboratory with the Mongolian University of Life Sciences. Zhao Jianguo, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and President of the school, Liu He, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Pan Dechang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President and the relevant responsible persons and teachers from the College of Food Science and Engineering and the College of International Education attended the meeting. The September 26 meeting represents another substantive step forward in cooperation between the two universities, following their successful signing of an agreement to co-establish an international joint laboratory at the 2025 Pujiang Innovation Forum Liaoning Sub-Forum.
At the meeting, Zhao Jianguo extended a warm welcome to Baasansukh Badarch and his delegation, and pointed out that the joint establishment of the laboratory is an important platform for the two universities to deepen practical cooperation and promote the integration of scientific research collaboration and talent cultivation. Zhao Jianguo emphasized that Bohai University attaches great importance to cooperation with universities in the “Belt and Road” co-construction countries, and looks forward to achieving resource sharing and complementary advantages through the joint construction of laboratories, and jointly serving the sustainable development of the region.
Baasansukh Badarch expressed his gratitude for the warm reception at our school and introduced the disciplinary characteristics and research strength of Mongolian University of Life Sciences in fields such as life sciences and ecological protection. He said that the construction of the joint laboratory would provide valuable opportunities for scientific research cooperation and exchange for the teachers and students of the two schools, and would help promote in-depth cooperation between China and Mongolia in fields such as life sciences and food engineering.
Subsequently, the two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in multiple fields such as the construction goals, operation mechanisms, and mutual visits of personnel of the joint laboratory. During the negotiation, both sides reached a consensus on focusing on the construction of the experimental platform, promoting exchanges between teachers and students through mutual employment of master’s and doctoral supervisors, and making efforts to enhance academic exchanges. After the meeting, the visiting delegation toured the campus of the school and the research platform area of the College of Food Science and Engineering, etc.
The successful holding of this promotion meeting marks that the cooperation between the two universities has entered a substantive stage of advancement and has also laid a solid foundation for the subsequent joint construction of high-level international laboratories. Bohai University will continue to uphold the international educational philosophy of openness and cooperation, and take this cooperation as an opportunity to further expand multi-level and multi-field cooperation with universities in the “Belt and Road” countries. It has continuously enhanced the school’s internationalized educational standards and its capacity to serve regional development.
